Melissa and Levi were originally going to have their wedding in Chico, but moved their venue to Melissa’s parent’s house in Eureka. It turned out to be a great decision because the Sutton’s home was absolutely gorgeous! They had beautiful landscaping everywhere and really picturesque settings for photography. The property was nestled in the redwoods, and, like any good enchanted forest setting, there were even deer for us to photograph! We spent a ton of time back behind the house finding cool photo spots where Melissa used to play when she was growing up. It’s so much fun to shoot our couples in a place that is really meaningful to them! For their ceremony, Melissa, Levi, and their wedding party stood out on a little island in the middle of the pond next to the house. Their flowers were gorgeous, too, and they even had a flower collar for their dog Lexi to wear during the ceremony. (Click here to see her co-starring role in their engagement session!) After the ceremony, Melissa and Levi had a live band called Northern Traditions come over from Chico, and they did a really great job of keeping the dance floor packed for us to get some great dancing pictures.
