Chico Wedding Photography: Gina and Brian’s Ever After Session

We shot Gina and Brian’s Ever After session at Brian’s parents’ house in Forest Ranch. They had so many fun things to shoot on their property! They had a great old bridge across the creek, and then we got Gina and Brian in the creek itself. Brian brought his fishing poles, so we also did some shots of them on the dock next to their pond. The lupines behind their house were absolutely gorgeous, too. Brian made Gina a little bouquet out of them, and it was perfect for their shots!

Chico Wedding Photography: Mailee and John’s Ever After Session at Honeyrun Bridge

We met up with Mailee and John at Honeyrun Bridge in Chico for their Ever After session. They got married downtown in November, and wanted to wait until spring to do their Ever After shots. Everything was in bloom at the bridge, and it turned out to be a beautiful day!

Oroville Wedding: Lauren and Rico – Lake Oroville Event Center

Lauren and Rico have been together since high school, and their wedding totally reminded me and Dusty of ours. We got the feeling from their guests that everyone has always known Lauren and Rico would get married and that they were all having a blast because the day was finally here. Their ceremony and reception took place at the Lake Oroville Event Center, and it was a really beautiful location overlooking Lake Oroville and the foothills.

Lauren was absolutely glowing all day! She and Rico were both so excited to be getting married!

The backdrop for their ceremony was amazing!

Rico surprised Lauren by wearing yellow socks to match her shoes.

We loved their cake topper!

Redding Wedding Photography: Krystal and Clifford

It was another rainy day wedding for Krystal and Clifford. (Our couples sure have been having lucky weddings lately!) While we were trying to figure out a place to shoot that wouldn’t result in Krystal being soaked in her dress, Krystal suggested doing pics under the Diestelhorst bridge near downtown. It was such a great spot that it ended up being one of our favorite places to shoot in Redding!

Krystal and Clifford thought ahead and brought umbrellas for everyone!

We don’t know who put this He Loves Her drawing on the bridge in chalk, but it was perfect for Krystal and Clifford’s pics!

San Jose Wedding Photography: Katie and Amie – St. John’s Lutheran Church and Freedom Hall

It was pouring for Katie and Amie’s wedding, but luckily we found a few breaks in the weather! We started off the day going to two different salons for their hair and makeup. It’s always fun for me and Dusty to see what we were each up to while the other was off shooting somewhere else. Katie and Amie had a really sweet ceremony at St. John’s, and then we were off to the Freedom Hall event center. They had beautiful gardens (which were soaked!) there, so we took advantage of a 5 minute break in the rain to get some shots of Katie and Amie before it started to rain again. The highlight of the reception was when their German guests taught everyone about the German tradition of performing a song for the married couple. In this case, it was a Katie-and-Amie-ized version of 99 Red Balloons that was totally hilarious.

Chico Wedding: Gaby and Ryan – St. John’s and Tuscan Ridge

Gaby and Ryan’s wedding was one of the most relaxed weddings we’ve ever been to! They were both about as calm and happy as any bride and groom we have ever had! We started off the day hanging out with Gaby while she got her hair done at Giada Aveda Concept Salon, and then Dusty went to take shots of Ryan getting ready while I did shots of Gaby putting on her dress. Their ceremony was at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, which is always an absolutely beautiful place for ceremony photography. After that we made our way up to Tuscan Ridge, stopping along the way to do some pics at Honeyrun Bridge as well. They had a small, intimate reception with about 50 people, which always makes it fun for us because we really get to know most of the guests.

Oakland Engagement Photography: Shannon and Bry – Lake Merritt

Shannon and Bry’s first date was at the Sidebar at Lake Merritt, so it seemed really fitting that we should go back to the place where it all began for their engagement session. It sounds all urban romantic, but really they were using this as their public meeting place since they had met online and each wanted to make sure the other wasn’t a creeper! (Clearly they both approved!) The settings around the lake were perfect for Shannon and Bry’s style. We loved the outfits they picked and the colors at the Sidebar and in the trees next to the lake were gorgeous.

Redding Wedding Photography: Franny and Troy’s Ever After Session

It was POURING at Franny and Troy’s wedding last November. It only stopped raining just long enough for their ceremony, so we didn’t get much of chance to take advantage of the beautiful setting at TBS ranch for their pictures. Because of that, we all decided to go out for an Ever After session once the weather got better. After a few more rainy-day-reschedules, we finally got a beautiful day! Troy’s family owns property out near Igo (west of Anderson), and it was the perfect place for a shoot. Between their engagement session and wedding pics, Franny and Troy are pretty much professionals at having us photograph them now. Even their dog Diesel has gotten comfortable posing for us!

Red Bluff Engagement: Aubrie and Luke

We shot Aubrie and Luke’s engagement session at Aubrie’s family’s ranch in Red Bluff. The two of them are having their wedding there as well, and it was really fun to get to do a little trial run for their wedding pics. It was REALLY windy that day, so we had to get a little creative with how we positioned Aubrie. The wind was manageable as long as we turned her to face into it so her hair wouldn’t blow into her face! Aubrie and Luke loved our chair collection, so we brought a few pieces for them to choose from for their shoot. It’s always entertaining to watch Dusty haul furniture across random open fields! Aubrie also found a really cute idea on Etsy.com. She and Luke took some old cowboy boots and wrote “10 6 2012″ across the soles. It made for some really cute Save-the-Date pics!

Chico Engagement: Sarah and Shane – Honeyrun Bridge

Sarah and Shane were looking for a fun place to do their engagement pics, so we suggested Honeyrun Bridge in Chico. It has a great country style and goes perfectly with their personalities. The two of them were so cute together! They have known each other since elementary school, but they didn’t start dating until much later. As a little acknowledgement to that, the two of them want to do some of the pics on their wedding day at the playground at their grade school. Sarah called it a “weird request” when she asked us, but we don’t think it’s odd at all. We absolutely love it when our couples come up with cute ideas like that! Those ideas make the wedding pics fun and unique!
