Chico Engagement: Lauren and Rico

As we were driving up to Lauren and Rico’s house to do their engagement session on Rico’s family’s property, we kept seeing a ton of great little picture spots right near the road. Normally when we see places like that, we have to immediately veto them because shooting in front of them would require some sort of trespassing. This time, though, we found out that Rico’s family owned all of it! There were all kinds of great barns and trees for us to use, and it was especially fun because the locations were all special to Lauren and Rico. They are another one of our high school couples (like us), and it’s always fun to hear our couples’ stories about growing up together!

Napa Engagement Photography: Alicia and Blake

When Alicia and Blake told us we could do their engagement session at Alicia’s uncle’s house, we didn’t realize that she meant her uncle’s “villa.” We were super surprised as we drove up, and were wondering if we were actually in the right place! There were so many cool doors and paths and walls all in one area. (Her Uncle also popped out of one of those doors and scared the tar out of them.) Alicia and Blake’s wedding will also be at her uncle’s, and we can’t wait to do their pics there again.

San Francisco Engagement: Ashley and Lee – The Palace of the Fine Arts and Baker Beach

If you want to hear a cute love story, talk to Ashley and Lee! They were both working for travel companies (Ashley in Santa Rosa and Lee in London) when they went on a company trip to China. They happened to meet on that fateful trip, true love got a hold of them, and then several months later Lee moved from England to California just to be with Ashley. It sounds just like a romance movie! San Francisco has become a special place to both of them, so we met up with them at the Palace of the Fine Arts for some shots and then headed over to Baker Beach. If you want to hear ANOTHER good story, ask us about how we got halfway down the beach during their shoot and discovered that there were naked old guys running around everywhere…

Sacramento Wedding: Marni and Jonny – The Center at 2300

Marni and Jonny are so unbelievably cute together! It’s pretty clear that they are really in love. After spending the morning with Marni at the salon where she was getting ready in Sacramento (she even got interviewed about her wedding by the news), we met up with Jonny at the Center at 2300. He was so excited to be marrying Marni that he looked like he was going to burst. You can see from the picture below that Marni still gets a little twitterpated when Jonny kisses her, too!

The stained glass windows in the sanctuary were so beautiful! Marni looked amazing in front of them!

We loved Marni and Jonny’s flowers. She had us take some home, and I couldn’t resist despite the fact that our car was already full of gear. I sat with them on my lap for two hours just to get them home!

Marni and Jonny’s band, Kugelplex, was so entertaining! The hora lasted for over an hour and the guests all danced until they were completely worn out.

San Francisco Engagement Photography: Danielle & Bret – Sutro Baths

Danielle and Bret loved the look that we got at the Sutro Baths for one of our other sessions, so we met up with them there for their engagement photography session. They are another one of our high school sweetheart couples, and it’s always so fun to be a part of their wedding and reminisce about me and Dusty dating in high school, too! It was hilarious watching Danielle try to cope with her photography-induced giggles while Bret in turn laughed at her laughing. They are clearly so in love, and the setting and sunset were so great that we had a blast shooting their session!
